Goodwood

We appreciate that Chichester may require a great amount of travel for some guests. In order to make the most of your time at the estate, we wanted to highlight some of the experiences on offer.

Golf

Goodwood has an 18-hole course near the house and a new short short game course. The Downs Course is one of the oldest in Sussex (since 1892).

Please note, The Park Course will be closed.

Walks

With over 11,000 acres to explore, The Goodwood Estate provides ample opportunity for countryside walks.

Further information can be found here, and a map of some suggested routes can be found here.

Offroad Driving

Experience tackling timber slaloms, axle twists and log bridges in a former military 1960s series Land Rover across the Goodwood Estate with private tuition.

This can be done individually or in a group.

Track driving

Home to the world-famous Revival and Members' Meeting, Goodwood Motor Circuit was the centre of British motor racing between 1948 and 1966, playing host to some of the greatest drivers of all time.

If you’d like to experience the track for yourself, there are a number of driving experiences on offer including track days or hot laps with a professional.

Flying

The Goodwood Motor Circuit started life as a perimeter road serving the runway to it’s centre. If you’d like to see the south coast from above you can book flight tuition lessons.

For the most adventurous, flights onboard a spitfire are also available.

If flying is not your thing, you may want to visit the aerodrome café overlooking the runway and enjoy the sound of spitfires doing fly-bys.

Clay Shooting

If you’d like to spend some time shooting during your stay, Goodwood offers both simulated game shooting with the backdrop of the beautiful South Downs and clay shooting within a secret disused stone quarry.
